If I was an elderly person who is not an experienced cannabis user already, I would think twice about using varieties with pharmacologically active amounts of THC for any purpose other than a replacement for other drugs with more dangerous side effects, such as opiates. High CBD/low THC products might be safer in many regards, but despite the hype in the popular press, there is essentially no research on the safety and effectiveness of CBD in humans at this point. There’s actually some evidence that CBD that is not balanced with at least a small amount of THC may cause problems for some users.
